Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
During the first year of project, we could follow closely its purpose related to the study of dynamics that will be used by DESTINY+ mission involving different perturbations over a spiral low-thrust trajectory. First of all, a complementary study to update the bibliography of the project was developed. The initial development of dynamical models for different forces presented in the problem using Equinoctial elements was performed with the inclusion of different forces in the dynamical system. The forces due to low-thrust and the flattening at the poles of the Earth were modeled and included in the physical model adopted for the our investigations. As a result, the initial computation of the solutions for these models was performed and numerical results were obtained. These results showed that the implementation of the forces was successful, with the results being validated with works available in literature and also with a high precision orbit propagator. The implementation of the third-body perturbation due to Moon's gravitational pull is in progressing accordingly with the original plan. These first outcomes were presented in at the 33rd AAS/AIAA Space Flight Mechanics Meeting of the American Astronautical Society (Austin, Texas, January 15-19 2023) and published in the annals of the conference in a format of complete article.

Reason
Apart from the results of a significant part of the project being already presented as an article for an important international conference, and new results under development are invited to be presented in a second conference, the additional research that has being developed with external collaborations is creating important results published/in publication for international and important academic journals.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
As mentioned before, the adoption of parameters for the orbital analysis closer to the scenario where DESTINY+ will operate is in progress and the inclusion of other forces as the third-body gravitational perturbation due to the Moon is necessary after certain altitude. Two potentials analysis which might consider eclipse and resonances can be considered during the continuation of the studies.
