Outline of Final Research Achievements

One of the main arguments of this study is that as global cooperation becomes more difficult due to the influence of geopolitical trends, cooperation at sub-levels such as between regions and like-minded countries is becoming increasingly important. Multilateralism, which has formed the basis of the postwar liberal international order, is being forced to undergo a transformation as ideological divisions and political tensions increase. In recent years, a movement to tackle specific problems in smaller units (minilateralism) has flourished. However, minilateralism has its limits in solving the problem of infectious diseases as a global issue. In this study, I examined how to link sub-level efforts and global efforts from the perspective of innovation.

本研究はパンデミック中の保健ガバナンスの変容をワクチン外交や各国の保健外交から分析したものであり、ガバナンスが地政学的な影響を受けて、組織的イノベーションが進行したことを論じている。現在進行形の動きを分析したものであり、学術的な意義はもちろん、世界的なパンデミック予防と対応への政策的インプリケーションも大きいと予想される。
