Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は３つのサブプロジェクト(SP)からなり,各々完新世後期における東アジア夏季モンスーン(EASM)フロント位置の変動，揚子江淡水流出量および黒潮強度変動，偏西風経路および日本海側降水量変動の復元を目的としている．平成25年度に、各SPは以下の様な成果を上げている．
揚子江SPでは，H25年7月に揚子江河口沖YD13地点で深さ40mの掘削孔(H)を2本掘り，計80ｍのコア試料とグラビティー・コア(G)3本を採取した．このうちH1およびG3コアの解析を進め，14C年代測定から上部10mは過去六千年間のほぼ連続的な堆積記録を保持している事が示された．一方，石英のOSL年代からは約六千年前および二千年前に，どちらかと言えば不連続的に急激な堆積が起こった可能性が示唆された．また，石英のESR測定に基づき，揚子江流域内の粒子供給源が千年スケールで変動すること，降水量の多いときに上流域からの粒子供給が多いことが示唆された．
東シナ海SPでは，揚子江からの淡水流出量変動をとらえるため，東シナ海北部から得たコア試料を用いて浮遊性有孔虫のMg/Caと酸素同位体比分析から表層水の塩分変動を約30-60年の時間解像度で復元し，揚子江流出量変動が過去七千年間に数百年～千年のスケールで3.5～5×10-2 Sv の幅で変動していたことを示した. また，黒潮変動復元のため，底生有孔虫殻のMg/Caと現場観測水温との換算式を作成した.
水月湖SPでは，水月湖表層堆積物の過去約百年部分について．2～3年の解像度で鉱物組成，石英のESR, CIを分析し，水月湖堆積物に含まれる風成塵の沈積フラックスを推定する方法を確立した．更に砕屑物フラックスの過去百年の変動を復元し，その変動が主に台風によって引き起こされる大雨の強度・頻度変動を反映していることを明らかにした．

Reason

揚子江SPについては，YD13地点のコアの掘削，14Cによる年代モデルの構築，ESR, XRDによる試料の分析は順調に進んでいる．XRFおよび粒度分析については，予定より遅れている．石英粒子のOSL年代測定の結果，年代が約二千および六千年前に集中する事が明らかになったが，これは予想外であり，その原因について現在検討している．石英堆積物のESRに基づく過去五千年間の揚子江集水域における降水域分布変動については，YD13からの結果を東シナ海陸棚内側MD06-3040コアからの結果（Wang et al.,2014)と比較しつつ解釈を進めている．
東シナ海SPについては，東シナ海北部コアを用いた完新世後期の揚子江流出量変動の高解像度復元は既に達成した．但し，コアサイトが河口からやや遠いため，淡水の寄与率が低く，復元誤差が比較的大きいという問題点が明らかになった．黒潮変動については，完新世について約二百年の時間解像度での分析が完了しており，復元誤差の評価法を検討中である．
水月湖SPについては，平成12年に掘削したSG12コアと既に世界最高水準の年代モデルが確立しているSG06コアとの対比作業は完了した．色データの解析も完了した．但し，研究計画段階では，水月湖の堆積物に含まれる砕屑物から細粒シルトフラクションを取り出すことで風成塵の情報を得られると考えていたが，詳細な分析の結果，水月湖堆積物の細粒シルトフラクション中に水月湖・三方湖集水域から供給された砕屑粒子が高い割合で含まれることが示されたため，風成塵の寄与率及びその供給源推定法を新たに確立する必要が生じ，その開発を行った．その作業に時間がかかったため，ESR, XRD, 粒度分析作業が遅れており，風成塵を用いた高時間解像度での偏西風経路変動の復元も予定よりも遅れている．
全体としての達成度は8割程度と思われる。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

揚子江SPについては，堆積物のOSL年代が約二千および六千年前に集中するという予想外の結果を受けて，YD13地点における堆積過程および堆積の連続性についてさらなる検討が必要となった．そこでYD13については，堆積構造の検討，長石のOSL年代，有機物の14C年代，石英の記録OSL年代の相互比較を行い，粒子の露光・再堆積・埋没のタイミングを再検討する．また，H26年度に揚子江下流部の砂洲で過去～七百年間の地層の掘削を行い，そこでの供給源変動復元結果と観測，歴史記録結果，YD13の復元結果の比較を行って，YD13地点における供給源変動復元結果の妥当性を検証する．また，陸棚域MD06-3040地点での供給源変動復元結果がYD13 での結果と類似し，揚子江集水域からの物質供給変動が陸棚域の広い範囲に伝搬していた可能性が示唆されたが，それを検証するためにMD06-3040コアの石英ESR分析をさらに高密度で行う予定である．
水月SPでは，遅れている試料の粒度分画，前処理，ESR，XRD，粒度分析作業を進め，そうして得られたデータに対して新たに開発した堆積物中の風成塵の寄与率及びその供給源推定法を用いて，過去六千年間の風成塵の供給源および供給フラックスの変動の復元作業を進めたい．また、H25年夏にIODPにより秋田沖で採取されたコアについても、同様の作業を進めたい．
東シナ海SPでは，今までの地点では揚子江流出量変動に伴う表層塩分変動のシグナルが弱いという問題点を解決するために，河口に比較的近い東シナ海陸棚域のコアを青島大から分けてもらう予定であり，入手出来次第，有孔虫の酸素同位体比，微量元素分析を行なう．また，黒潮変動については，成果の公表にむけてデータの信頼度をあげる努力と誤差の評価法の検討を行なう予定である．
