高密度水素吸蔵金属有機材料の超高速高信頼設計

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、第一原理計算を用いた新規高機能ガス貯蔵材料の広範な探索と貯蔵能に関する詳細なメカニズムの解明を実施した。特に、気体分子とケージ上の構造を有するナノ構造体との相互作用はファンデルワールス力であり、これまで理論的に双極子励起を第一原理的に取り込んだ精密計算がなされたことはなく、本研究の基盤部分として、この重要問題に取り組み、法全電子混合基底第一原理計算プログラムTOMBOにカシダ法による時間依存密度汎関数計算を付加的に開発し、それを用いて、各種分子に関して引力項と斥力項の係数の絶対値算定に成功した。
具体的な研究対象物としては、カーボンナノチューブ、グラフェン、有機金属構造体、クラスレート水和物を中心として、貯蔵能向上を目的とした種々の付加分子を含む系への各種気体貯蔵・放出の詳細シミュレーションを実施した。特に、本研究の独自性として、外部電場による水素放出の高速化や、対象系に歪を加えることによる貯蔵能増大の検討も行った。
水素貯蔵量向上方策の一つとして水素分子を分解して水素原子として貯蔵することが考えられており、この分解過程のシミュレーションをTOMBOの時間依存密度汎関数計算によって行い、ニッケル触媒を含む系での水素分子分解反応過程の時間発展追跡に成功した。通常の第一原理計算では、電子は基底状態におかれるため、実際の反応より相当運動エネルギーの大きな状態ではじめて反応が起こるが、我々はこの問題の抜本的解決法の提案に成功した。
