Outline of Final Research Achievements

The main purpose of this study is to examine the effects of firms' activities on the Japanese economy. Our main findings are summarized as follows. (1)Since the mid-1990, firm-level volatility increased, while aggregate-level volatility has remained low.
(2)We found that the large proportion of job creation is accounted for by new entry firms and new entry firms increase the probability that incumbents will exit.
