高効率スピン分解光電子分光法の高度化とスピントロニクス材料の３次元スピン解析

Research Abstract

本研究の目的は我々の開発してきた従来比約１００倍の検出効率を持つスピン検出器を利用したスピン分解光電子分光装置を高度化し、スピン量子化軸を３次元的に高精度に解析可能な装置を実現し、それを用いたスピントロニクス材料のスピン電子状態解明を実現することである。また、我々の研究施設である放射光科学研究センターのアンジュレータビームラインに装置を建設することによりエネルギー可変性、偏光可変性を用い、表面とバルクの寄与を切り分けたり、電子の軌道を分離したスピン分解光電子分光観測を実現し、様々な物質のスピン電子状態を詳細に解析することを目的としている。
前年度までに３次元スピン解析装置の設計および建設を完了した。２５年度は実際のスピントロニクス材料の測定を行いながらこの装置を最適化しながら装置性能の向上を図った。測定試料の評価や試料の寿命をのばすなどの目的ために本年度は低速電子線回折装置や真空ポンプなどの周辺装置を整備した。前年度までにわかったスピン分解フェルミ面マッピングに要する時間の短縮については異なる測定方法を利用することにより改善できることがわかった。
２５年度のもう一つの計画であるスピン検出の更なる効率化のためのターゲットの最適化および新しいターゲットの開発については、ドイツのスピン逆光電子分光実験を行っているグループとの共同研究を行い、現状のターゲットの非占有状態の電子状態の研究や電子の入射角やエネルギーによる効率の変化などの測定を行い、高効率スピン検出用ターゲットの開発指針を得た。この結果は論文にまとめ公表する予定である。
また、本装置を用いた共同研究を国内外の研究者と推進し、バルク敏感性を変化させたり光の偏光依存性を利用してトポロジカル絶縁体などのスピン電子状態について多くの新しい知見を得、その研究成果を国際会議、国内会議で発表し、多くの論文を発表した。
