Outline of Final Research Achievements

This project was an integrated Area Study in which over 30 researchers and practitioners from Ethiopia and Japan participated for action-oriented field research. In the process of research, members shared the concept of “Local Knowledge (ZAIRAICHI) and contributed to the further clarification of its definition.
The project team was composed in four groups; (1) environment and livelihood, (2) health and welfare, (3) education and coexistence, and (4) culture and creativity. Each group had three common interests to analyze the set of data looking at its generation, sharing and creation of local knowledge.
The findings of the research project have been actively presented not only at the international academic conferences and journals but also shared with local communities at the exhibitions organized at community-based museum.
