| Research Abstract |
Through the authorship of joint papers and holding of international symposiums, we state that a comprehensive understanding of the Lyceum Theatre can be effectively obtained by the use of materials in various languages that present a non-unilateral viewpoint. Lyceum Theatre was a meeting place for various genres of performing arts in the Shanghai Foreign Settlements from the 1930s to the early 1940s. Furthermore, by clarifying the state of performing arts, it is possible to comprehend the in-the-moment thinking that was used to overcome the sense of cultural confinement in wartime Shanghai.
