Outline of Final Research Achievements

There were findings on difference between stutterers and nonstutterers. The first was laryngeal controles on breath.Stutterers'were unstable.The second was the brain activation which suggested that stutterers could not read syllable sequences efficiently.The third was what diagnostic guidelines for children's stuttering are different between Japanese and English.
As for the treatment,the direct method was checked,and CALMS model was introduced and examined.We framed the model of assessment and therapy with the fruits of previous studies and this research.Phonological features and the theory of nonliner phonology was brought in the analysis of the functional misarticulation,and a course of the therapy came to light.
