Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study explores how identity development relates to time orientations in the transition to adulthood. The longitudinal data indicate that future orientation strengthens commitment but present orientation weakens it and promotes explorations. The findings suggest that identity development needs both future orientation and present orientation, namely a balanced time orientation.
