| Research Abstract |
本研究では，ヨーロッパの文化的核心をなすカトリック地域，なかでも宗教の世俗化が進み，脱カトリック化が顕著とされる現代スペインにおいて，カトリック聖地への巡礼が隆盛している現象に焦点をあて，現代の巡礼を支えている宗教的ツーリストの行動とスペインの観光空間の構造の解明に取り組んできた。
平成25年度は以下の研究成果を得た。
1）収集資料の整理と理論的枠組みの提唱：平成23～25年度の3か年で収集した資料を整理 し，巡礼とツーリズムにおける理論的な枠組みに関する学術論文（『観光戦略としての宗教』(筑波大学出版会），『Geography of religion in Japan』Springer）を発表した。
2）現地調査の実施：研究代表者および分担者は手分けをして，サンティアゴ・デ・コンポステラ巡礼地に関するフィールドワークを複数回実施し，聞き取り調査および資料収集を行った。フィールドワークではサンティアゴ大学歴史・地理学部の研究者および大学院生の協力を得た。
3）研究成果の公開：研究成果の一端をInternational Geographical Union(国際地理学連合）のKyoto regional conferenceで口頭発表するとともに，国内外の研究者と意見交換を行った。また社会貢献の一環として，目黒シティカレッジ（東京都目黒区）において研究成果を講演した。3か年の研究成果は今後，収集資料を整理しつつさらに進めていく予定である。
