Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
With three other scholars (two based in the U.S., and one in Japan), I am preparing an edition of the letters of the American poet Robert Frost (1874-1963), the first volume of which was published in 2014, to good reviews in America and England: The Letters of Robert Frost, Volume 1: 1886-1920 (Cambridge, Massachusetts: Harvard University/Belknap Press). During the 2015-2016 academic year, I worked on The Letters of Robert Frost, Volume 2: 1920-1928 (Cambridge, Massachusetts: Harvard University/Belknap Press). This book is now in production (spring 2016), scheduled for publication this fall. More specifically, during AY 2015-2016, I completed transcriptions of letters slated for inclusion in volume two of The Letters of Robert Frost (during spring and summer 2015), assembled the typescript (during fall 2015), and readied it for shipment to Harvard (in December 2015 and January 2016). During 2015, I also completed work on The Cambridge Companion to American Poets (New York: Cambridge University Press, 2015), for which I am the contributing editor. During spring term (2015), I brought that book through copy-editing, then through proof-reading and indexing, so as to meet the publication date in October 2015. During the past academic year I also completed work on an essay, “The Varieties of Frost’s Religious Experience,” for inclusion in Understanding James, Understanding Modernism, edited by David H. Evans, and scheduled for publication by Bloomsbury Academic in January 2017.
