Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The result of my research is the following. The contents of the theatrical revues in 1920’s by Robert Musil are observation and criticism on the situation of spirits in Wien after World War I. They were often written under the influence from the theatrical revues by Alfred Kerr. Even the novel “the man without qualities” could come into existence with accepting the view of a revue by Kerr. Kerr is called usually the midwife of Musil, but we can now therefor call Kerr “the midwife of Musil in two times”, in the first time, as we knows, he brought him into the world with the criticism on Musil’s first novel, and in the second time when Kerr gave him the inspiration to the big novel.
