Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this research project is to make historical character of the Tiansheng Statute 天聖令 clearer, and I could have satisfactory results through collection of texts of the codes and ordinances in Tang and Song dynasty and analysis on these legal texts themselves. Main achievements of this research are as follows: 1) Through comparative analysis of more than 6,000 legal text data including more than 1,000 text data of the lost codes and ordinances of Sung dynasty, I could make it clear that there are great changes of descriptions between Tiansheng Statute and the codes and ordinances of Southern Song dynasty. 2) Some new legal texts of Tang dynasty could be found from Dunhuang and Turfan documents. 3) I could point out that the ordinary text of Song Code 宋刑統 should be made modifications based on the manuscripts in Ming period.
