Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research aims to clarify the role and social significance of a former feudal domain noble by research method using historical materials. First, the researcher conducted a survey of Mori's historical materials at the Yamaguchi Prefectural Archives, and collected and analyzed historical materials related to Mori family after Haihan-chiken. This survey clarified the movement of Choshu-han after Haihan-chiken and raised a new viewpoint to the research of Choshu-han in the end of the Edo period.Second, the researcher conducted a survey of Iesato TOKUGAWA, who succeeded to Tokugawa family after the collapse of the Edo Bakufu and became Shizuoka seigneur, at the Shizuoka Prefectural Central Library and in the United Kingdom.
