Outline of Final Research Achievements

As part of the basic study of minute charcoal particles, I visited 11 wildfire sites in Japan and New Zealand, observed the sites in detail, collected charcoal particles on the ground surface and observed them under a microscope.
As a result, the differences between minute charcoal particles derived from grassland fires and those from woodland fires became clear to some extent. However it also became clear to identify carefully burnt vegetation based on minute charcoal particles.
On the other hand, in this study, I built a database of minute charcoal particles which seems to be useful for the studies based on them.
