Research Abstract |
We jointly examine funding methods of Japanese and Chinese public pension system mainly from institutional and theoretical point of view. In both countries, public pension reform, especially expanding general revenue funding, is strongly required; we considered comparison of the funding method on many aspects. In Japanese pension system, we research the public pension reforms which require increases in the consumption tax for the first tier of pension system, and in China it focused on the long-term financial sustainability of its pension system.
