Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, a hearing survey was conducted among the following types of pioneering adult guardianship support centers in Japan: (1) the social welfare council of the region, (2)the municipal social welfare council supported by the prefectural social welfare council of the region, (3)a non-profit organization established by local specialists, (4)an advocacy support organization entrusted by the local authorities, (5)a citizen guardianship support organization, (6)the local authorities as part of its own work, etc. Besides, the following factors can be the keys to the establishment of adult guardianship support centers: (1) regional challenges to meet, (2) key persons in the region and their supporters to share compassion with, (3) places for sharing information and councils for project promotion, (4) financial support, (5) cooperation with pioneering foregoers or participation in network organizations, (6) backup facilities and systems, etc.
