Research Abstract |
To investigate the creativity and imagination involved in children'expression through drawing,they see diagrams,instructed them to draw their interpretations of these diagrams,and collected the resulting drawings.The subjects of this study were kindergarten and elementary school in Japan and the Czech Republic.The usage of colors is different from Japan in Czech. The results of the study showed that,:1)regardless of sex, elementary-school children tended to produce a greater number of drawings in both countries;2) girls tended to produce a greater number of drawings;3)regardless of age or sex, colors of the diagrams did not influence the interpretations;4)japanese children' originality in utilizing the diagrams to be similar to Czech children' expressions a tendency was also obseved.These results provide suggestions about how childcare and education,along with age,environment,and sex,influence the creativity and imagination involved in expression involved in expression through drawing.
