Outline of Final Research Achievements |
From post-war reform era to mid-1970s, there existed ATO(Area Training Organizations)system for teacher education in England. The ATO system was abolished in 1975, after the position of teacher training courses within higher education (post-secondary education, formerly) had changed in 1960s and early 1970s. The end of ATO system symbolizes the new era of quality assurance for teacher training, where professional accreditation of the course is clearly distinguished from academic validation.
