| Research Abstract |
To identify important proteins for chromoplast differentiation, we compared the data of plastid proteins of White Tomato (which does not accumulate carotenoid), Black Tomato (whose ripened fruit retains chlorophyll), and Micro-Tom using two-dimensional electrophoresis.
Results showed differences in lipocalin protein, plastid lipid associated protein CHRC, and Harpin binding protein 1 in Black Tomato and White Tomato. It is suggested that such proteins are actively participating in chromoplast differentiation.
