Research Abstract |
To establish novel and objective ultrasonographic examination and apply it to clinical veterinary medicine, fundamental parameters of normal canine pancreatic perfusion were determined by using contrast agent Sonazoid. Then, novel diagnostic critetria for acute pancreatitis focused on pancreatic perfusion changes was established based on analysis of contrast-enhanced ultrasonographic examination in experimentally induced acute pancreatitis model in the dog. In addition, left atrial phasic function in healthy dogs by means of 2-D speckle tracking echocardiography with time-left atrial area curve analysis was evaluated. The repeatability and reproducibility of obtained measurements were adequate. This results indicates that studies are needed to determine clinical applicability in canine patients.
