Research Abstract |
Inflammatory mucosa in ulcerative colitis showed elevated level of DNA damages (DNA double strand breaks) and cancerization in UC may be prepared in such DNA damaged mucosa. Invasive carcinoma in ulcerative colitis showed significantly low level of DNA damage response than early phase of cancerization process. In comparison with sporadic tumors, invasive carcinoma in ulcerative colitis showed significantly low level of DNA damage response. By these data, it is speculated that DNA damages and early failure of DNA damage responese may occurred during inflammatory cancerization process in UC.
