| Research Abstract |
ハンタウイルスはげっ歯類を自然宿主とする人獣共通感染症の原因ウイルスである。申請者はこれまでに東南アジアおよび南アジア諸国でのハンタウイルス関連疾患の発生状況に関する研究を行ってきた。その結果、不明熱とされた中の一部にハンタウイルス感染症を見いだしてきた。が、依然として多くの検体は依然として不明熱のままであった。これは地球規模での公衆衛生上の大きな問題点であると考えられる。本研究では東南アジア・南アジアにおける熱性疾患の実態を明らかにすることを目的とした。
申請者は輸入症例・不明熱の診断にあたってハンタウイルス関連ウイルス抗体の鑑別診断を迅速に行うために、鑑別血清診断法であるELISA法を開発してきた。さらに、途上国および検疫の現場など研究設備の不十分な環境で迅速に感染診断を行うためのイムノクロマトグラフィー(ICG)法を開発してきた。チクングニアウイルスやデングウイルスの流行の背後に複数の未診断の疾病が隠されていることが考えられた。本年度ではベトナムのリケッチア感染症疑い200検体の中にリケッチア感染症ではないものがおよそ半数存在し、その中にハンタウイルス感染症も存在しなかった。しかしながら3から10検体ほどはE型肝炎の関与が疑われた。現在、坑レプトスピラ抗体の解析を進行中である。一方、捕獲したげっ歯類においてはハンタウイルス、E型肝炎、レプトスピラを保有していることが確認され、ヒトへの感染源となることが予想されたが、重症熱性血小板減少症候群ウイルス(SFTSV)については現在までに抗体陽性げっ歯類は確認されていない。以上の結果から現在までのところ、アジア地区の熱性疾患には特定に至らない病原体の一部としてE型肝炎、軽症のレプトスピラ症および少数ではあるが一定の割合でハンタウイルス感染症が含まれることが示唆された。
