Outline of Final Research Achievements

We conducted a cohort or follow-up study of 21,260 dentists with a mean follow-up of 9.5 years. The risk was significantly increased among respondents with many teeth lost for total and pneumonia mortality and stroke incidence whereas no such a significant association was found for incidence of ischemic heart disease. In addition, the frequency of blushing teeth was inversely correlated with the risk of stroke incidence.
