Outline of Final Research Achievements |
At present, it is difficult to transfer genes into hair cells in inner ear. Also it is hard to transfer genes into only hair cells. In this study, we identified hair cell and tried to induce GFP into hair cells. Using glass micro-pipette, we injected GFP gene into inner ear tissues and passed an electric current. By adding electric current, the transduction efficiency increased. Furthermore, we attached glass pipette to cell surface and make micropore chemically and passed weak electric current. In this method, we could successfully induce GFP genes into hair cells. However, the efficiency was not good. Also using confocal micro endoscope, we could observe hair cells.
