Research Abstract |
Preparing synaptic contacts in developing (three weeks in culture) and mature (6 weeks in culture) superior cervical ganglion (SCG) neurons, I performed live image of axonal transport of CFP-labeled mitochondria, RFP-labeled synaptophysin,a synaptic vesicle protein, and GFP-labeled CAST, an active zone protein, applying variousaction potential firing pattern to a presynaptic neuron. Their conduction velocity in the axon and their accumulation in the axon or into the terminal were impaired with dysfunction of a motor adaptor protein.
