Research Abstract |
We found the Students' Science Notebooks (SSN) and examinationresults in Middle Meiji Era (MME) at Murakami and Yoita, etc. in Niigata and also in variousregions in Japan. By those SSN, i.e. historically valuable primary documents, weinvestigated deep inside of Japanese science education and clarified those realsituations in MME. We studied what and how science were taught by using experimental toolsshown in SSN. We revealed how Japanese teachers developed their own styles of scienceeducation based on Japanese culture and how they cached up to the top level in the worldsby using hands-on experiments shown in SSN of MME for learning science more actively.
