IntroductionofPHAsynthase(PhaC1)and3-hydroxyacyl-ACP:CoA transferase(PhaG)genesfromPseudomonassp.61-3,andbeta-ketothiolase(PhbA)and acetoacetyl-CoAreductase(PhbB)genesfromRalstoniaeutrophaintoPHA-negativeR.eutrophastrainsresultedinthebiosynthesisofpoly(3-hydroxybutyrate)[P(3HB)]or poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyalkanoates)[P(3HB-co-3HA)]consistingof3HAunits of5to8carbonatomsfromsugarorcarbondioxideasthesolecarbonsource.The3HA molefractionsinthecopolymerswerelessthan2.4mol%.
