Research Abstract |
In order to understand the formation process of social norms, we need to know what the society value or what the true "affluence," which implies both material wealth and spiritual richness, is for the region. In this research, first, I conducted the opinion surveys in four regions in Hokkaido and developed "Affluence Indicators" based on the surveys. Then, using those indicators, their component indices, some statistics, and other qualitative information, I analyzed how each region evaluated its life differently. Finally, I discussed how we could utilize these indicators for public policies in each region.
