鉄鋼スラグを原料とした固体酸塩基触媒の合成とグリーンケミストリーへの応用

Research Abstract

高炉スラグの高付加価値化及び新たな利用技術の開発が求められている。高炉スラグには主成分としてCaO, SiO2, Al2O3, MgOおよび微量のFe, Ti, Mnが含まれ、適切な化学プロセスを施すことで高付加価値材料へ転換できる。本研究では高炉スラグを簡便な化学プロセスにより層状複水酸化物へと変換した。層状複水酸化物は、高い固体塩基性により触媒材料として期待できる。本研究では、高炉スラグを原料に得られた層状化合物をCO2固定化やバイオディーゼル燃料合成などの有用な触媒反応へと応用した。
ボールミルにより粉砕した高炉スラグをHCl水溶液で溶解し100 °Cで加熱後、ろ過してゲル化した含水シリカと各種金属イオンを含む濾液とに分離した。濾液にNaOH水溶液を加え、沈殿物をろ過、洗浄、乾燥を行いCa-Al-Cl系層状複水酸化物を得た。XRD, TG測定、元素分析により、得られた化合物はスラグ成分に由来するMg, Fe, Mnなどを含む単相のCa-Al-Cl系層状複水酸化物であると確認できた。pH11.5、100 °Cの合成条件下で最も結晶度の高い層状化合物が得られた。得られた化合物を空気中600 °C以上で焼成するとCaO、MgOおよびMayenite (Ca12Al14O33)相を含む混合酸化物へと変化し固体塩基性も向上することがCO2-TPD測定により確認できた。
これらの試料を用いてCO2とエポキシドの付加反応を行ったところ、良好な選択率(> 90%)でポリカーボネート樹脂の原料となる環状カーボネートを合成できた。また、大豆油を原料に用いたバイオディーゼル燃料合成反応を行ったところ、未焼成試料では活性を示さなかったが、焼成によりCaO相を析出させることで高い触媒活性が発現した。
