Research Abstract |
In the present study, we explored a new potential strategy for converting cellulosic biomass to sugars by using hydrophobic ionic liquids (ILs). To realize anaqueoushydrophobic IL two-phase systemfor enzymatic saccharification, we synthesized new ILs comprising functional groups that have ability to dissolve crystalline cellulose. Finally, we developed one potential two-phase system for a simultaneous pretreatment and enzymatic saccharification process of cellulosic biomass.
