Research Abstract |
To identify molecular and physiological mechanisms for discrimination of neuralinformation, we used simple local neural circuit underlying temperature sensation andprocessing. We utilized molecular genetics, behavioral analysis and optical imaging andmanipulation of neural activity. W found that neural coding for discrimination of multipletemperatures signaling through glutamate neurotransmission, molecular mechanism fordiscrimination of sensations, and localization mechanisms of synapses involved ininformation discrimination in axon.
