| Research Abstract |
PCaP1およびPCaP2はそれぞれのN末端のミリストイル化により安定的に細胞膜に局在する。両分子のN端２０数残基はホスファチジルイノシトールリン酸（PIP）およびカルモジュリン/カルシウム（CaM/Ca）複合体と結合する能力を有する。CaM/Caの結合が優先するため、細胞内カルシウム濃度が上昇した場合にはCaM/Caが生成し、PCaPに結合していたPIPを遊離させる。したがって、PCaPがカルシウムシグナルをPIPシグナルに変換する役割を果たしていると推定される。本研究におけるPCaPの機能欠失株の表現型解析により、少なくともPCaP1は気孔の閉口プロセスに、またPCaP2は正常な根毛の先端成長に不可欠であることが明らかになった。
