Research Abstract |
As cultured dermal papilla cells (DPC) lose hair-inducing ability, we co-cultured mouse DPC with mouse ES cells or iPS cells. We could not keep hair-inducing ability by these methods. Then we fused DPC with mouse ES cells. While fused cells behaved ES-like cells in ES media, they maintained some DPC specific gene expression in DPC culture media.
