Research Abstract |
Protonated titanate nanotubes were synthesized under various conditions and modified by doping with heteroatoms. These catalysts were applied for C-C bond formation reactions. TiO2 nanoparticles were converted into titanate nanotubes or nanorods depending on the synthesis conditions and effective Bronsted and Lewis acid sites were only formed on the surface of the titanate nanotubes. In addition, when Nb5+ and Ta5+ ions were doped into the titanate nanotubes, the catalytic performance was enhanced by a factor of 10.
