Research Abstract |
The development of new actuators which can mimic living muscle performances would open new horizons in robotics field. We applied a magnetic force-based tissue engineering (Mag-TE) technique to skeletal muscle tissue engineering, and succeeded to construct highly cell-dense, aligned and contractile skeletal muscle-like tissues by using a genetic engineering approach and electrical pulse stimulation culture.
