Research Abstract |
This project was planned to construct a cross-textual database on Mark Twain's five major travelogues. The database, now accessible on the internet, allows scholars to make a single word search or phrasal search within the five books. As a result, the chapter number, the brief table contents, and an option which opens the full text of the chapter are displayed.Due to this project, the secondary outcome such as several papers, presentations, andothers have been produced. My interest focuses particularly on the development ofMark Twain's literary way of representing his "observation" and "introspection" over the travel writings.
