Research Abstract |
We have developed a mathematical analysis program to handle vast numbers of dendritic spines in the mammalian brain, providing a better way of spine analysis for many researchers. To further enable three-dimensional analysis, we examined a number of fluorescent reagents and found a candidate substance with robust anti-fading properties suitable for confocal imaging. We also established a method for precise quantification of oxytocin in the brain and made a multi-electrode measuring system for oxytocin effects on the spines in the prefrontal cortex.
