Research Abstract |
Protein expression levels of tripartite motif-containing 72 (TRIM72) in atrophied, regrown, and hypertrophied mouse soleus muscle were investigated. In unloading-associated atrophied muscle, the mean expression levels of TRIM72, phopsho-Akt (p-Akt) and phosho-p70S6K (p-p70S6K) were decreased. On the other hand, the increase in the expressions of TRIM72, p-Akt and p-p70S6K were observed during muscle regrowth of atrophied muscle. Although the expression levels of p-Akt and p-p70S6K were also increased in overloading-associated hypertrophied muscle, TRIM72 expression was stable. These observations strongly suggested that a role of TRIM72 might be different between hypertrophy and regrowth of skeletal muscle.
