海洋魚類生態系におけるハロゲン化・非ハロゲン化難燃剤の生物濃縮特性の解明

Research Abstract

臭素系難燃剤(BFRs)の使用規制等に伴って代替難燃剤の需要が増大しており、その環境・生態系汚染が懸念されている。本研究は、海洋生態系に残留する既存のBFRsおよびハロゲン化・非ハロゲン化の代替難燃剤を測定し、その汚染実態と食物網を介した生物蓄積の特徴について解明することを目的としている。魚類、頭足類、動物プランクトンなどの試料は、期間内に独自に採取するものに加えて愛媛大学生物環境試料バンク(es-BANK)に保存されている試料を活用し、多様な魚類生態系を対象とした研究を展開する。今年度は、研究計画のうち(1)ガスクロマトグラフ－質量分析計(GC-MS)を用いたハロゲン化代替難燃剤の分析法確立、および(2)超高圧高速液体クロマトグラフ－タンデム質量分析計(LC-MS/MS)を用いたリン酸エステル系難燃剤(PFRs)の分析法開発、について重点的に取り組み、それぞれ環境・生物試料に適用可能な分析法を確立した。1については、GC-MSを用いてDBDPE、BTBPE、DPなどのハロゲン化代替難燃剤と既存BFRsを同時に分析可能な方法を開発し、分析精度や検出感度も既存の報告と同等かそれ以上の結果を得た。2の分析法については、脂質の除去等で改良の必要な点もあるものの、LC-MS/MSを用いて既存の方法と比べ10～100倍程度高感度な分析法を確立した。また、次年度実施予定の課題にも一部着手し、マニラ湾（フィリピン）の魚介類などの試料を分析した。その結果、一部の魚種(yellow goatfish, silver sillago, tripletail wrasse, bumpnose trevally)で総PFRs濃度が高値(>1,000 ng/g lipid)を示し、なかでもリン酸トリフェニル(TPhP)については生物濃縮性が示唆された。これらの成果の一部を、既に国際誌に公表した。

Reason

今年度予定していた計画が順調に進み、次年度計画のうち、(3)炭素・窒素安定同位体比による食物網構造の解析、および、(4)ハロゲン化・非ハロゲン化難燃剤の生物濃縮特性の解明についても、既に一部試料の分析・解析を進めており、成果の一部を学術誌に公表した。これは、当初時間や手間がかかると予想していた分析法の開発が順調に進んだためであり、es-BANKに保存されている生物試料を利用することで、迅速・広範囲なモニタリングを展開することができた。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

昨年度は、微量化学物質の分析法確立とes-BANKの保存試料を用いたモニタリングを展開した。分析法の確立が予定よりスムーズに進行したこと、環境・生物試料としてes-BANK保存試料を使用したこともあり、予定額よりも効率的に研究を推進することができた。次年度は東北地方やインドネシア等で独自に現地調査を実施して試料を採集し、さらにグローバルかつ比較生物学的な研究へと発展させたい。また、最終年度でもあるため、得られた成果を国内外の学会で発表し、学術論文として国際誌に公表する予定である。

Expenditure Plans for the Next FY Research Funding

次年度も引き続き試料採取と化学分析を実施し、将来的に環境汚染が懸念される新規環境汚染物質の生物濃縮特性の解明、すなわち近い将来社会的関心や要請が高まると予想される課題に応える先駆的な研究を目指す。また、進捗が順調なため、当初計画よりも大規模・広範囲な調査研究と国際競争力の高い成果が期待できる。国内外の調査・学会等の旅費、試料採取に係る費用、化学分析に係る消耗品等購入費用、データ解析のための事務用品費等として本研究費を使用する計画である。
