Outline of Final Research Achievements

In the 19th Century Japan, a nationwide network of the people was build accompanying the transportation network. Also, scholarship and the arts joined hands with publishing.
This study focused on Kido Chitate(1778-1845), not only the key figure in the group of the disciples of Moto-ori Norinaga but the publisher and bookseller in Kyoto. Then I investigated his achievements in scholarship and publishing from the perspective of the network of the people.
