Research Abstract |
This research demonstrates the significance of ancient Macedonian activities of city-constructions and planting colonies in the process of foundation and expansion of their kingdom. Especially it is stressed that we could make out some features of cultural assimilation on re-organizations of upper class of their society. Therefore the analysis was made into large built-tombs in Necropolis of Macedonian 3 main cities. In this analysis a genealogical chart was given by classification of constructive structures of chamber-tombs. We could simultaneously distinguish characteristics of chamber-tombs by each city.Nekropolis of Vergina has all types of chamber-tombs, on the other hand, that of Lefkadia has only relatively new types. Then taking city's characteristics into consideration, it has been recognized that there were frequent and intensive cultural assimilation in Lefkadia's tombs.Furthermore it has been made out that each type of their facade suggests different origin of culture.
