Research Abstract |
The purpose of this research is that we clarify the structure of the local financial associaton in farming area in Early Modern Japan. We confirmed that the lasting mutual financial assciations 'Eizoku-ko' were founded in Kami-shiojiri village, Chisagata district, Shinano, Japan. For the regional market was active, many silkworm egg merchants lived in Kami-shiojiri village, and many mutual financial associations were organized.
