Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We confirmed that the trend of “unsuccessful bidding” is not because an increase in worldwide demand has shot up international prices and Japanese importers cannot cope with the increased prices, unlike the case of fishery products. At the same time, we examined the factors that led to this situation using international marketing theory and learned that Japan’s presence as a buyer has decreased, as problems have been arising, including the detection of residual agricultural chemicals, with the expansion of the frozen Chinese vegetable export business. We also confirmed that leading Japanese developers and importers of frozen vegetables are cultivating new producing areas in inland China to purchase frozen vegetables and overcome the present stalemate, but this approach is not an effective measure currently and has failed to improve the situation.
