| Research Abstract |
In this study, I examined the function of MALAT1, a nuclear long noncoding RNA, in transcriptional regulation. I found that MALAT1 negatively regulates the promoter activity of p53, a well-known anti-cancer gene. This result can well-explain the relationship between MALAT1 and cancer based on gene regulation of p53.
