| Research Abstract |
In Japan, the number of companies voluntarily going private throughmanagement buy-out and so on has increased over the past years. This study aims to shed light on causes behind these transactions and determinants of buy-outs that have gone private in the years 2009-2011, and it presents a model to forecast such privatization in order to help shareholders and other external stakeholders make more effective decisions.
