Research Abstract

The outcomes of this research project are as follows
Constructed the most part of database on small businesses regulated by the police in Meiji period and revised the estimates on the prefectural labour force by industry
Estimated the number of yearly migration among prefectures in pre-war Japan and investigated the interrelation between migration and regional inequality
Surveyed the methodologies on estimating the value added of the tertiary industry in terms of long-term economic statistics
