Research Abstract |
In vivo and in vitro analyses were performed to study transport mechanisms for cationic drugs, such as [^3H]verapamil, at the blood-retinal barrier (BRB).The results obtained suggested the involvement of carrier-mediated transport system in the influx transport of cationic drugs across the inner BRB. Furthermore, orphan transporters were identified as candidate molecules responsible for drug transport at the inner BRB.
