Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In FY2023, we investigated and determined the photonic nanojets (PNJs) generated from micro-cylindrical structures in PMMA in both experimental and computational simulated aspects. The results were disseminated in one publication in Applied Physics Letters, one domestic conference (令和5年電気学会全国大会), and one international conference (MNC 2023).
In addition, the PNJ properties were experimentally and computationally studied from SU-8 microstructures, in which the results were presented at one domestic conference (令和6年電気学会全国大会).
Moreover, we made SU-8 engineered microplastics by proton beam writing methodology, and the results were presented at one international conference (MNC 2023) and published in the Japanese Journal of Applied Physics.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
Our research team frequently met online or face-to-face to discuss the progress results. More importantly, researchers have worked competently, and their skills are well suited to this project. Furthermore, research materials, equipment, facilities, etc., are appropriate for the work in this fiscal year.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
For the next fiscal year (FY2024), we will continue to use the PBW to construct dielectric microstructures to produce the PNJs and develop a system for nanoplastic detection method.
|
Causes of Carryover |
The incurring amount to be used next fiscal year will be employed to participate in and present this research project at international conferences aboard and other expenses that drive the research progress.
